I don't know who said it but this sounds accurate to me. Squirrels are responsible for a lot of damage in both rural and urban environments. They eat songbird eggs and fledglings, bulbs especially crocus and daffodil, walnuts and other plants. Squirrels are also responsible for a lot of damage caused when they get into the roof space of a house, gnawing through electricity cables, water insulation, rafters etc.

We supply two types of squirrel traps to catch them:
'Springer Mk 1V Fenn Trap
This trap kills the squirrel, or rat, mink etc. Therefore care must be taken it its operation. Place the trap under a bucket, in a pipe or some other place where it cannot be moved by a larger animal. Make the entrance to the trap small, approx. 2 1/2" or 3" round is sufficient to allow a squirrel in. Same baits as the live catch trap, below. Again mind your fingers. Further instructions will be included with your trap.

A single/double entry 'live catch' squirrel trap. Made from galvanized 14 gauge weld mesh, measuring 6"X 6" X 24"(approx). It is designed to allow a squirrel to enter then a door closes behind them. This allows identification of the animal before it is dispatched. We may send either double or single entry traps as available, as only one door is used for trapping squirrels this will not effect there ability to catch. If a double entry trap is supplied leave one door closed.
Baits: Peanuts, biscuits, eggs or anything that the squirrels have been seen eating in your site.
Site: Best set on the ground beside a fence, wall, or tree. To cover the top of the trap leaving a tunnel effect can help. WARNING: Squirrels Bite. Do not put fingers anywhere near a live squirrel.
