Field Tantalus:

The Tantalus is hand built entirely from carefully selected pieces of oak. Wherever possible we use reclaimed timber.
Measuring approx. 390 mm x 300 mm with an overall depth, including the lid, of 145 mm. The main body of the Tantalus is constructed using mitred joints on the corners and the base board is let into a rebate. A flush handle in solid polished brass is let into each end. The lid sits on the main body using a stepped joint and is designed to be removed and used as a serving tray. The eight glasses sit securely into individual sockets in two racks of four, one rack on each side. The racks have a very attractive routed detail to the edge and around the top of each socket. The bottle rests on two felt covered cradles. For display purposes a bottle of Gordon's Sloe Gin has been used. However, if your favourite tipple is something different, please let us know. The base-board and the inside of the lid are covered in the same coloured felt.
We offer a choice of two different coloured felts as standard, Burgundy and Green. Other colours are available on request but will incur extra cost. The entire unit is then treated with a minimum of two coats of waterproof wax, applied by hand and hand polished to a beautiful soft sheen.
